TODAY'S EPISODE:

00:39

Hello, and welcome to episode number 84 of the marketing interruption podcast. I'm your host, Andrew Maff stone. And today I'm going to be talking to you about what sellers should be doing during Black Friday Cyber Monday. So today, well, when this podcast comes out, is November 19, which means a week from today is Thanksgiving, which means a week from tomorrow is the big day when it starts, right and everyone gets all hyped up about it. So usually by now everyone's anxieties are going up, they're making sure stuffs prep, they're making sure they're in inventory. They're making sure all their ducks in a row so that they can go and get stuff done and make their money. Right. So I'm gonna talk to you a little about what you should be doing specifically on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, during that weekend, and the answer is nothing. So thank you all for joining me today. It is true it is it is absolutely true to do nothing. By nothing. I mean, yes, you're more than welcome to pour yourself a cocktail and sit there and just watch your numbers go. Or you know, if you're hanging out in the office and just there to answer questions, by all means, but you have to find a way to relax, take a deep breath. This podcast is now going to become just a therapy session of me telling you to remain calm.

Again, track and try the ASMR stuff or I talk really quietly into the microphone to make you feel better. I I'm curious to see how that turns out if that actually sounded good or not. Look, here's the thing. By that you have to remember, and I don't really practice what I preach, if I'm going to be honest with you. But you have to remember during that Friday through that Monday, everything that you put into place is going to go live and it's going to do what it's going to do. There's nothing you can do in those final minutes, that's going to game change, like holy shit, this was the best Black Friday Cyber Monday ever, the only thing you could possibly do is on a paid advertising side where you jack up your bids, and you jack up your budget. And then you just happen to have an even better conversion rate than usual. Not something I would suggest a lot of that stuff is out of your hands. So maybe help and hang out your customer service team, or whatever you can do to just relax and take a deep breath and just accept the fact that everything you could have done for Black Friday, Cyber Monday is done. It's all in the books. Now you just got to sit back, relax, and watch it happen, right? you've trained everyone for up to now you've trained your marketing up until now and now is the time to just let it go and see what happens. Coming on Monday. And on Monday because it's still Cyber Monday. Come in, smile on your face. Most CEOs if you walk in pissed off, your employees are gonna be pissed off. And if you do that on a Monday, it's gonna fuck the whole week up, go in happy. Take Monday and just be like, Hey, you know what, we're all just gonna chill. Today, we're gonna see how the numbers do. And everyone's relaxed will cater and like do something to ease the stress.

It's not that big. It's not that bad of a deal. If you don't have a great Cyber Monday, Black Friday, you will survive. everyone finds ways out of issues if they have a big one. This year is going to be really weird. It's going to be crazy. There's probably going to be a ton of shopping still through the remainder of the year. So I wouldn't panic if it doesn't go well. Just take a deep breath. relax, enjoy yourself. Make some food that you like making cocktail. Watch the numbers do not touch anything. That's all I had for today. If you have any questions, if anyone feels like they need to be talked off the ledge, feel free to email me at marketing interruption@bluetuskr.com I will talk to you all tomorrow where I will probably say relatively the same thing, recapping the week and telling you to relax and just let it happen. I feel like I should be like a life coach now. Subscribe and see you tomorrow.
